MIXES

All of my mixes are recorded in real time, using the equipment shown above, unless otherwise noted. This becomes painfully obvious when you hear the mistakes.

EQUIPMENT

My equipment consists of the following:

Two (2) Technics SL-1200MK2 turntables
Ortofon Concorde Night Club S cartridges (spherical styli)
Denon DN-2000F MK III double CD player
Numark DM1720X mixer
Sennheiser HD200 headphones.

For recording, I use a custom-built PC running Red Hat GNU/Linux. The audio capture card is a SoundBlaster 16 PCI. The only computer software used in making my mixes is a unix program called "record". Here is a screen shot:

It's not that I'm opposed to better recording hardware or computer mixing software, but I'm too damn lazy to educate myself, and too cheap to buy anything fancy. Nevertheless, if you have suggestions on how I can improve the sound quality of my mixes, feel free to let me know, and I'll feel free to ignore you.

NOTES

Most of the tracks on my mixes are copyrighted. None are licensed from the copyright owner, but you can rest assured that I am not making a dime off any of this!
It's all about (spreading) the music, you dig?
Downloads may be bandwidth-limited, to minimize the load on booyaka.com. Depending on the speed of your internet connection, your download may seem slow, but it should proceed steadily until the transfer is complete.
