IF THEY CAN'T DANCE TO IT, FUCK 'EM
After a long delay, my first (and only) mixtape is available again, this time in MP3 format. Only a handful of tapes were originally distributed, to friends and fellow DJs involved in the mo-raves scene.I created this mix using a Denon DCD-860 CD player with pitch control buttons, a Technics SL-1500 turntable with pitch adjust knobs (separate knobs for 33 and 45 rpm), and an old Radio Shack mixer. In my opinion, the most imporant aspect of DJ-ing is track selection. So this equipment, while inferior, was more than sufficient.
I'll be the first to admit that some of the tracks have aged better than others. Nevertheless, I am still quite fond of this mix. The only thing I would change would be the trainwreck at the beginning of the last track. But I never re-recorded side B because I love how the last song, with its extra long outro, fades out perfectly at the very end of the tape.
