Also on that date Autechre release their third full-length CD. Has anyone heard the Cocteau Twins' Ambient EP 'Otherness'? Radio - Noise Gate - Corrective EQ - A touch of stereo enhancement - DAT Trouble is, I don't actually have my own cassette deck, but I'm sure I can get one in if anyone's interested. Just a note to reassure those of you who expressed an interest in getting hold of a recording of tonight's 'Mixing It' on BBC Radio, that I did manage to get in onto DAT, and bloody good it was too! I have secured the loan of a cassette deck, so now all I have to do is get a load of tapes in. I haven't used cassette for years so I'm a bit behind with modern formulations. I'll probably get a batch of TDK SA's, unless anyone has a better suggestion? Watch this space! Hey, no sweat! I plan to get everything together for a dubbing sesh this weekend. Hopefully I'll get the tapes off early next week, once I've got snail addresses for those who've expressed an interest:- Oeyvind Eggen Jaspal Marwah Matt Thompson Gentle Alan M. Parry Scott Bateman If anyone else wants a copy, please contact me by Friday PM, so I can get my shopping list ready. Dunno what I'll do about payment, don't really care to be honest. Just nice to have the opportunity to help out my fellow Aphex fans! Crumbs, what have I let myself in for! I may have to stagger the taping, for financial reasons. Never mind, see how it goes. Onward! It's exactly 45 minutes, so I guess a C60 should cover it. Well, seeing that my list currently contains requests for 32 cassettes and 3 DATS (phewee!), anything that stems the flow will be useful! So not wanting to put a dampener on things, here's a few facts about the programme (from a 'phexocentric standpoint). * Mr James isn't performing live. * All you hear are bits of 'Ventolin', 'Icct Hedral' (Glass version), and all of 'Children Talking' from the 'Hangable Auto Bulb' EP. But, * There's quite a lot of discussion with him. Much more than I'd have expected. Great for the fans. * They play some pretty wonky stuff too! I'll keep my Friday deadline, 'cause I'm a man of my word, but if you're thinking of sending me a 'Me too' please be aware of the above points. I'd like to keep the numbers manageable so I don't have to ask for any kind of payment in advance. It would be a _major_ help if those who can afford it send me a blank tape and an e-mail to tell me it's on it's way. If this (the e-mail) could be done by Friday , I can figure out what I need. My snail node:- Thomas Jerome Newton 19 Bernard Street Uplands Swansea SA2 0HU UK As I've said, this is _not_ obligatory, it'd just help me out a bit. Sorry to be a pain in the arse!
